I'm sorry Arsenal fans,I know this is my last game here I shouldn't have done this': Ramsdale sends strong apology message to Arsenal fans over His costly error today

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal won the London derby against Brentford at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday evening.

Arsenal beat Brentford 2-1 at the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League. Declan Rice and Kai Havertz scored the goals for the Gunners.

I think that Arsenal were the better team and deservedly picked up all three points from the London derby.

Mikel Arteta’s side dominated proceedings in the first half, but there was one moment and one player who almost cost Arsenal the win.

Aaron Ramsdale makes error for Arsenal vs Brentford

Aaron Ramsdale started for Arsenal. The England international replaced David Raya in goal for the Gunners. Raya was ineligible to play against his parent club Brentford.

Ramsdale did make some good saves, including two in the second half, but in first-half injury time, he cost Arsenal a goal.

It was a really bad mistake. Ramsdale should have controlled the backpass better and should have cleared it quicker.

There was no reason for the 25-year-old to put pressure on himself, and I think that he will not play again for Arsenal this season.

Andy Townsend gives his verdict

Former Chelsea player Andy Townsend was following the match for PremierLeagueProductions, and the pundit was far from impressed with Ramsdale.

Townsend said on PremierLeagueProductions: “Ramsdale likes to encourage people to close him down but come on, it’s right on half-time. You need to do it a lot quicker than that.

“Brilliant play from Yoane Wissa, tremendous work from him to get in there after him and force that error, but that, I’m afraid, in a nutshell, is why this kid is on the bench and David Raya plays every week.”

Ramsdale is a good goalkeeper, but the mistake that the £24 million (The Athletic) player made against Brentford was one of the worst we have seen in the Premier League this season.

Yes, it was his first competitive game in a while, but Ramsdale, who is on the radar of Chelsea, should have been smart and just cleared the ball instead of trying to be too clever.

You can see why Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta prefers David Raya to Ramsdale. Raya would not make such a mistake, especially now that he is settled at the club.
